Players

Players must be age 14 or older to compete. Everyone must complete a waiver (pdf download). Those players under the age of 18 must also complete a parental waiver, which can be found on the main waiver (pdf download).

Rosters

Every team must complete a roster. A roster is comprised of at least three (3) players and no more than five (5). Each player must be either a Rookie or Novice, as defined by the APL. A rookie is anyone with less than one season of tournament experience. A novice is anyone with fewer than three (3) seasons of tournament experience.

Equipment

1. Only pump and semi-automatic markers are allowed. Guns with fully automatic capabilities are allowed IF the player may select a semi-auto mode. Any use of the fully auto mode, 3 round burst, or anything other than semi-auto is not allowed.

2. Markers must meet manufacturer and insurance safety guidelines (i.e. no homemade or unsafe modifications allowed). No paintball grenades, fireworks, or dangerous items are allowed.

3. Players ARE NOT allowed to modify velocity after it has been checked by officials. You will be eliminated if caught doing so.

4. Markers will be chronographed prior to play and must remain below 300 fps afterwards.

5. Every player MUST wear goggles, full length pants, and long sleeves. Extra baggy clothing is not permitted.

6. Paint must be purchased from event officials they day of the tournament. Cost is $35 per 2,000 paintballs. This low price is an exclusive offer from Viking Paintball for high quality paint. This is to ensure equal gameplay throughout the event (some paint, like Monster, is simply not good enough for a tournament).

Speedball

Speedball is a fast-paced paintball variant popular in tournament circuits throughout the United States. Two teams of three (3) people from each team begin on opposite sides of a field. Their objective is to capture a flag from the opposing team's side. Once a go signal is given, players from each team must advance up a field that is set up with a variety of inflatable "bunkers." Once a team has captured the other's flag, they must return to their side and make contact with a designated area (i.e. a wall). A player hit at any during the game is eliminated and must return to the sidelines. If an individual is hit while moving with the flag, he/she must drop it where he/she was hit.

Conduct

Players are expected to play fair. Any abusive conduct (i.e. pushing, shoving, hitting, etc.) will be grounds for disqualification. Competitors are also required to respect and follow the guidelines set forth by event officials. The referees have absolute say in their rulings, though arbitration is possible (see full APL guidelines).
